Store Staff

Dave Miller, Store Manager

Hometown: Charlottesville, VA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Dave ran all four years in high school before competing briefly for James Madison University. He now races distances between 10K and the marathon, and is a member of the PR Racing Team.

Favorite....Running Story: "I once was cajoled into running 13 miles directly after eating a pound of bacon. Despite all expectations, it ended up being one of the more pleasant runs I had during that period of time...."

Joe Pignone Joe Pignone

Hometown: Washington, DC (but his "adopted" hometown is Boise, ID)

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Joe has run at least part-time for almost thirty years. Although a better biker than runner, Joe likes the economy and efficiency of running. He prefers the solitude of a solo run in the woods to the camaraderie of a big race, but he is dedicated to helping people reach whatever running goals they might have, from a jog around the block to an ultramarathon.

Favorite....Quote: "Beginning is half done."

  Chris Sloane Chris Sloane

Hometown: North Potomac, MD

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Chris has been running since his high school days at Quince Orchard HS. After running 2 years at Virginia Tech, Chris developed some injuries and had to stop running for a while. A few years later he started to self coach himself to train for a marathon. Chris taught himself how to avoid injury through proper rest, nutrition, and the right training. Since then, Chris has been very active in road races and races any distance from 10K-26.2. Chris believes his best racing days are ahead of him and continues to bring his times down. He hopes to one day qualify for the Olympic Trials Marathon.

Favorite....Quote about Marathons: "The Marathon is the ultimate test not against everyone else, but against yourself."
