Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is committed to curing leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and helping patients and their families. Team In Training (TNT) began in 1988, when Bruce Cleland of Rye, NY formed a team that raised funds and trained to run the New York City Marathon in honor of Cleland's daughter Georgia, a leukemia survivor. The team of 38 runners raised $322,000 for LLS's Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter. Because of the pioneering efforts of Cleland and the Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter, Team In Training was born and has grown into the world's largest endurance sports training program. Cleland was honored by Runner's World magazine in 2004 as one of their "Heroes of Running" for his role in establishing TNT. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training® (TNT) program offers various endurance-sport programs to help you reach your goal. Participants can choose to run or walk a marathon or half marathon, swim, bike and run a triathlon, embark on a century bike ride (100 miles) or set out on a hike adventure. Join the more than 40,000 runners, walkers, cyclists, hikers and triathletes who will participate in the world's major marathons, triathlons, hiking adventures and century rides this year on behalf of LLS.

Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Team Challenge

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Team Challenge is the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's endurance training and fundraising program. Through Team Challenge, you can run or walk a half marathon, train for a cycling event, or experience a sprint triathlon while helping to find a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, two chronic and often debilitating digestive diseases that impact 1.4 million Americans. Participants raise funds for Crohn's and colitis research and patient services in exchange for training, support, and lodging and airfare to the event of their choice. Participants range from seasoned athletes to novices who want to get in shape, triumph over a challenge, and/or meet other motivated people.

Teams train in honor of local patients who are battling Crohn's and colitis, known as honored teammates. Their stories provide inspiration and motivation to train in their honor and fundraise for a cure. For over 40 years, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) has paved the way to a cure by creating the first research programs dedicated to Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. With escalating numbers of new cases, the need for research and patient support funding is greater than it has ever been. Team Challenge for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis is helping us raise the funds needed to make these diseases history.

When you join Team Challenge, you'll train for a rewarding and exciting endurance event while raising vital funds for research. These dollars will help make new treatments possible and fuel the search for cures. With your help, we can prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis from impacting future generations. Get ready for the experience of a lifetime. Join Team Challenge for our half marathon, cycling, or new triathlon programs today.
