Run Your Heart Out 5k Please join us for the Run Your Heart Out 5k on Sunday, February 12, 2012. This race is in celebration of Valentine's Day. We encourage you to wear your best red outfit, exercise your heart, and run with your loved ones. Runners will enjoy running through a beautiful scenic lollipop loop through the paved pathways of Reston. Red Shoe Run & Walk 5k Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington DC has been serving the DC region for 32 years. 2012 marks the 15th anniversary in hosting a charity walking event. After a successful and well-reviewed inaugural event in 2011, we are excited to host our second year of the Red Shoe 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser. On March 25th at 9:00 am, please join our special guest emcee Ronald McDonald himself, longtime and new sponsors at Dulles Station for the 2nd Annual Red Shoe 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington DC. This family friendly event will include a fast, flat and scenic 5K course with timing provided by the IPICO timing system. Our top finishing racing enthusiasts will be awarded cash prizes. Our recreational and fitness runners will enjoy a fun, new course that has yet to be used in the regional race circuit. Coyote Chase 5k The Rosa Lee Carter PTO is excited to host our second annual 5k Run/Walk on Sunday, April 22, 2012. The Coyote Chase will begin at 9 a.m. The 1k will begin at 10 a.m. The race will start at Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School in Ashburn and then take you through a scenic tour through one of Loudoun County's premiere communities. There will be refreshments post-race. All funds raised will go to the PTO to support educational and social programs at Rosa Lee Carter. Come out and catch the Coyote Spirit! Palio di Siena 5k Join us for the first annual Palio di Siena 5k race and Family Fun Run/Walk! Named after the horse races that have been run in Siena Italy since the 16th century, our Palio di Siena event will be held on April 28, 2012 at beautiful Lake Fairfax Park in Reston, Virginia. The race will benefit Siena Academy, the Montessori parish school of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Great Falls, Virginia. There will be cash prizes for the top overall finishers, fantastic age group awards, a team competition, great swag, and an awesome post-race party for the entire family! Run Me Home 5k, 10k, and Kids Fun Run Join us for the second annual Run Me Home 5k, 1k, and Kid's Fun Run on Saturday, April 280th at 7:30 AM. The race features a fast and scenic course in Historic Leesburg, VA running along the W&OD trail Proceeds from the race to provide the special needs of Loudoun County children in foster and adoptive care who are often unable to benefit from what many of us take for granted:

Run4Kids 5k 5k The Run4Kids 5k benefits orphans in Adama, Ethiopia. The Run4Kids 5k will be held in the Lansdowne, VA area. The event is fun for the entire family and a great way to kick start your Spring. Awards will go to the top 3 overall Male and Female finishers as well as the top finisher in age group categories. Oak Hill Elementary School 5k The Oak Hill 5k is a fun, community run on a fast, flat course through the Chantilly Highlands neighborhood with both start and finish lines at Oak Hill Elementary School. The purpose of the run is to encourage family fitness, as well as to raise funds to benefit programs for Oak Hill students including the purchase of instructional technology. AOL 5k Come out on May 6th and join us for the 3rd annual AOL 5k. The race will follow a hilly out-and-back course that takes runners through the AOL campus in Dulles, VA. Click HERE for more information.

Global Giving 8k Come out to Burke Lake Park May 6th to support the Global Children Foundation in its first annual 8K! All proceeds will go to the Foundation, which provides food and assistance to needy children around the world. The Foundation formed in 1998 as a result of the economic crisis in Asia and has since spread to contain more than 4,000 members in over twenty countries worldwide. The Foundation helps underprivileged children gain shelter, education, and food for their wellbeing. Currently, the Foundation is mainly focusing on eliminating children’s starvation by providing nutritious meals to young victims of economic hardships, epidemics, social disturbances, wars, and natural disasters. Come enjoy the spring weather on this early May morning with family and friends. The 8K will begin at 8:00am on the scenic trail in Burke Lake Park. Participants may run or walk, and awards will be provided for the top 3 male and female runners. Free t-shirts, rubber wrist-bands, food, and water will be given out to all participants. Early registration fees are $25 per person before April, and $20 for children 13 and under. Any children in strollers are free. We've Got Your Back 5k Join us on race day for the Spinal Health Fair at the registration site! This fun-filled community event is open to all ages, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Vendors and exhibits are available for your education and enjoyment. Bring your children to the Kids Corner for special activities! The 5K race will be run on a scenic course through Reston, VA, followed by a 1 mile fun run/walk. Adam's Angels 5k The Adam's Angels 5K is staged at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax Virginia. The race will start and finish in the parking lot in front of the school and run through the surounding neighborhood. There is also a Fun Run/Walk for those not wishing to do the 5K. Carter's Run 5k Please join us for the 1st annual Carter's Run for Dandy-Walker on May 19th. Carter Zimmerman is a 4-year-old resident of Ashburn who has Dandy-Walker, a congenitive brain abnormality. Join his family and friends as they raise awareness of this little-known syndrome and donate all proceeds of the event to the non-profit Dandy-Walker Alliance, based in Kensington, MD, to fund a cure! In addition to the run/walk, there will be a performance by The Great Zucchini as well as lots of fun stuff for the whole family - face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon art, moonbounces, an appearance by the Chick-Fil-A cow, a raffle and much more. Brain Aneurysm Race for Awareness 8k & 2k Fun Run Need a middle distance run as part of your training this fall? Come out and join us for the 5th annual Brain Aneurysm Race for Awareness 8k in Memory of Timothy P. Susco. The event also includes a 2k fun walk for all ages. The race starts and ends at South Lakes High School and travels through scenic Reston streets. Tim was a 1999 graduate of South Lakes and a member of the cross-country and track teams. This race is in Tim's memory who died from a brain aneurysm in 2007. Race proceeds are split between the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and the Washington Regional Transplant Community. The race fee includes technical t-shirt. All children under 12 receive a finisher's medal. Click HERE for more information.

Glory Days XC (open race) The Glory Days Grill Cross Country 5k Race is for runners of all ages. It is run on a fun cross country course at Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, VA. The race begins at 8:30 a.m. There will be post race refreshments and awards. The Glory Days High School Cross Country Invitational begins at 10 a.m. at the same location. Stay after the race and watch the high schoolers. The Invitational consists of 3000 runners competing throughout the day in 9 different races. Click HERE for more information.

Gingerbread Man Mile Calling all kids! Run Run as fast as you can and CATCH the Gingerbread man! Join us on the Friday after Thanksgiving (November 23, 2012) for the Gingerbread Man Mile (for kids!). The event kicks off a festive day at the Reston Town Center which includes a Holiday Parade. Registration is free for kids, although a donation to Neediest Kids is appreciated. The first 500 registrants will receive a commemorative t-shirt! Click HERE for more information.
