6/7: The Power of Apparel... The Long and the Short of It!

After spending the past few Saturdays working on the floor at a couple of our store locations, it came to my attention while helping various women, that many of you are just searching for the perfect, basic black short. It's like the little black dress of running apparel. While we all want a cute outfit for a marathon, or race, or just our weekend long run with friends, those solo everyday runs we just want a 'go to' basic black short we don't have to think about. It will go with any shirt! Just like any other wardrobe staple, however the basic black short is not one type suits all! We all have a different need and want! Whether it's length, pockets, inner boxer short instead of brief, waistband style, fabric type, etc, our check lists are long. Fortunately we have a LOT of 'varied' basic black shorts to meet those check list needs. Here are 6 of the most popular. Of course we do have more, and carry sizes from XS through 2X. So stop by your closest PRR and find your own personal favorite.

1) Nike 7 Inch Tech Tight Short - Just like the most popular of all our capri pants but shortened for the warmer season. Comfort, coverage, and a zipped generous sized storage pocket to boot.

2) Moving Comfort Strider Short - Another longer length option, and perfect for walkers with it's side hand pockets. This is liner free, so choose your own undies ;))

3) Asics Performance 2-N-1 Shorty - Loved for it's seamless inner boy brief, this short has an inner key pocket and very small slit at side of the leg.

4) Puma Baggy Short - Don't let the name fool you, this is the cute one. Super light fabric with mesh panel inserts at the side, and reflective hit. A fold over rear pocket, and flat wide waistband with cool graphic.

5) Adidas Response 4" - Very simple, nice coverage, inner key pocket. Sweat wicking mesh at the small of the back area, and those all familiar 3 stripes to add a little something to break up the black.

6) Brooks Pacer Short - It dosn't get any more basic then this no frills black short, and yet the flattering cut, seam detailing make this a great short. Not too long, not too short and under $30!
