Saturday Injury Drop-In Screenings

Do you occasionally suffer from aches and pains when you run? Have you been repeatedly sidelined by chronic injuries? Do you sometimes wonder whether you can “train through” something bothering you or whether you need medical attention/a break? The Saturday Injury Drop-In Program is your opportunity to spend time with a medical professional AT NO COST and discuss your problems and questions (or how to avoid problems in the future if you’ve been injury free!)

You can now stop in to scheduled =PR= locations on Saturdays between 12-2 PM and meet with a medical professional relevant to runners and walkers (Podiatrist, Physical Therapist, Orthopedist, Sports Medicine Professional, Athletic Trainer, Sports Massage Practioner, etc.).

Below you will find a list of the available practices and a bio of the medical professional attending the next scheduled injury screening.

We hope this program will help you stay on the road/track/treadmill injury free!

Below are the practitioners coming in for our next scheduled injury screening on Saturday, February 4th, 2012:

One 2 One Physical Therapy: Heather Carr, DPT

Heather has been practicing Physical Therapy since 2002. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine as well as a Master of Science in Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science from Boston University. She has a Manual Therapy Certification (University of St. Augustine) and advanced certification for trigger point dry needling.

Heather uses a combination of manual therapy, specific neuromuscular training, and education relating posture and body mechanics in her approach to treating pain and injury. In order to develop an individualized and comprehensive treatment plan, she conducts a thorough biomechanical Physical Therapy evaluation that assesses the body as a whole to determine the cause of pain and injury as well as identify areas that are prone to dysfunction. There is a strong inter-relationship between various parts of the body; pain in one area is commonly the result of dysfunction elsewhere.
