MEET THE STAFF
Dustin Sweeney was born and raised a short distance from Ashburn (or Leesburg), just past the Blue Ridge Mountains in Berryville, Virginia. He started running at age 12 and began training in earnest at Clarke County High School, where he would later graduate and coach cross country and track and field. At Clarke County, Sweeney led his teams to 15 state titles among other accolades. On the coaching front, he moved on from his alma mater to coach at James Madison University, then to The George Washington University, after that he coached a professional running group sponsored by New Balance in Washington DC before coming to Potomac River Running and coaching their training programs in Leesburg, Ashburn and in Reston, where he currently resides.
Dustin also worked at Runners Retreat in Winchester, Virginia for eight years and at Pacers Running in DC for six years. He has fit well over a thousand people for the right shoes, insoles, apparel, and accessories to help each person stay healthy and reach their individual goals.
He has a degree in Kinesiology from Shenandoah University, and has run on and competed on many different levels, but now uses his time to teach others how to run faster, farther and better than they ever thought possible!
