We are fortunate to have built our lives around running and the running community, and feel equally lucky to have a business that enables us to give back – not only to runners, walkers, and triathletes, but to the causes they serve and the greater community. We’re particularly proud of a few initiatives:

School / Youth Program Outreach

A healthy lifestyle starts early. Youth fitness programs can provide the building blocks for future athletic success, but more important, for lifelong wellness. We proudly support local elementary school fitness and running initiatives, the DC and NOVA chapters of the Girls on the Run Program, and local high school teams. Our staff frequently visit and share knowledge with youth programs, and we often work with coaches not only to offer fundraising and team-building events but also to help defray costs for athletes from families needing a little extra assistance.

Project Sole

We have partnered with Project Sole to donate gently used running shoes. Project Sole is a humanitarian organization that unites shoes and compassion to relieve suffering, care for the poor and enhance the quality of life. By recycling excess inventory from the footwear industry, we reduce our carbon footprint and provide a basic necessity to others in need. Thanks to your generous support, we’re helping Project Sole to be able to distribute shoes to people in need throughout the world. Bring your slightly used running shoes to any =PR= location and we will happily store them in our used shoe bin for donation to Project Sole.

Support for Charity Fundraising Programs Implemented Through Running

We proudly support and contribute to over 200 area road races, and have launched our own non-profit company, =PR= Events, Inc., to put on several more. These events benefit charitable causes – from nationally recognized charities to more locally relevant school fundraisers. In addition, =PR= owners and staff share their knowledge and experience with participants in a variety of charity fundraising race training programs, serving as volunteer coaches, seminar leaders, and more.
