An Evening with Ultrarunner Legend Scott Jurek

August 5, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

UPDATE 8/3/18 — REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED:   We are now at capacity for this event!  Registration has been closed at this time for any future registrants.  For those that don’t get the opportunity to meet him this time around, we hope to have Scott back in the near future!

Attention all ultrarunners, runners, and sports enthusiasts alike… we have an exciting event you won’t want to miss!  Join us on Sunday, August 5th at 6:30 PM @ =PR= Leesburg and meet legendary ultrarunner Scott Jurek!  Scott Jurek is one of the world’s best known and most beloved ultrarunners. Renowned for his remarkable endurance and speed, achieved on a vegan diet, he’s finished first in nearly all of ultrarunning’s elite events over the course of his career.

But after two decades of racing, training, speaking, and touring, Jurek felt an urgent need to discover something new about himself. So he set out on a wholly unique challenge, one that would force him to grow as a person and as an athlete: breaking the speed record for the Appalachian Trail.  Scott’s journey north led him to write a thrilling memoir about his grueling, exhilarating, and immensely inspiring 46-day run to break the speed record for the Appalachian Trail.  North is the story of his 2189-mile journey that nearly shattered him.

Join us on August 5th for a personal meet-and-greet with Scott!  We’ll kick off the evening with a 3-mile fun run, followed by some cool refreshments and snacks.  Scott will talk with us about his journey that led him north.  We’ll have time for Q&A at the end.  We will have copies of North available for purchase… don’t forget to pick up your copy and have it signed by Scott!

If you plan to join us, please RSVP below!  We look forward to having you join us!
