*What to expect in the “Self Defense for Runners Workshop”
Get ready to Train Empowered! This workshop will cover fundamental combatives and instinct-based defensive techniques to empower runners of all ages and sizes. We will cover the most common scenarios that runners encounter and how to protect ourselves so that you can run in peace and confidence.
Come dressed in workout clothes.
*Who is Katie and what is Leverage Fitness and Defense?
Katie Aber, owner of Leverage Fitness and Defense, has been training in martial arts since the age of nine and has a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Katie currently instructs Krav Maga (Israeli self defense), Kali (Filipino martial art) and Women’s Kickboxing.
Katie started Leverage Fitness and Defense with the idea of building a community that helps and respect each other through the learning and teaching of martial arts. Every student at Leverage gets a good workout with an emphasis on functional fitness, learns and practices self defense techniques but most importantly encourage and empowers each other to achieve more.
Katie discovered her love for running as an adult after having her two daughters. As runner herself, who has completed 3 marathons and a Tough Mudder, Katie understands the importance for self defense knowledge while training.
