Proper Foot Care: During The Commute & At The Office
June 15, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Join Potomac River Running Store =DC= and Dr. Monique Renee Muronda (Rolle) of Lansdowne Podiatry on Saturday, June 15, for a clinic devoted to Proper Foot Care: During The Commute & At The Office. Commuters spend significantly more hours sitting, walking, and standing in dress shoes than they do in their athletic shoes. Overlook your feet during the work hours and your run can suffer.
An uncomfortable or ill-fitting pair of dress shoes can sideline your whole day, so why are so few people acknowledging the importance of their everyday footwear? According to the American Osteopathic Association, 1/3 of the women who wear heels will fall, experience damage to the toes, increase their risk of bunions as well as a myriad of other side effects. And women’s sky-high stilettos are not the only villains. Men’s dress shoes present problems such as a flat insole and pointed toe bed that can lead to plantar fasciitis and other foot pain.
Dr. Muronda will be in-house to provide a medical insight on all these common issues and more. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how everyday shoes impact their run and how to avoid these common pitfalls. For the athlete with aching feet, it’s time to look beyond your run to the office.
This will be an interactive session with the opportunity for questions and comments.
Seating is limited, so please RSVP early to guarantee entry.
