April 28 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Are you suffering from intense lower leg pain? If so, join =PR= DC for a Shin Splints: Causes, Symptoms & Diagnosis Discussion w/ Dr. Monique Rolle of Lansdowne Podiatry on April 28th beginning at 12:30pm.
Dr. Rolle will lead an in-depth group discussion involving anterior shin splints, which is a common condition that forms when the muscles or tendons surrounding the leg bone become inflamed, irritated, and painful. Learn quick facts such as why muscle and tendon irritation arises, treatment methods, and how to prevent recurring flare-ups. Following the presentation, Dr. Rolle will provide complimentary one-on-one injury screenings and answer any corresponding questions attendees may have.
Did you know: Shin splints can result from overuse, a collapsing arch, stress fractures in the lower leg bones, or imbalance between opposite leg muscle groups and frequently occur in runners and dancers.
Shin splints can be prevented by properly stretching prior to and after exercise, sports, or activity. Properly fitted shoes and/or performance insoles can also be used to prevent shin splints.
