A Message from Co-Owner, Ray Pugsley:
I am writing to share my personal connection to an organization that makes an impact in the lives of those with back and neck pain across the country. The National Spine Health Foundation empowers patients to protect their spine health and take back their lives from debilitating spinal conditions: from traumatic injury to chronic pain to youth scoliosis.
I am a spinal champion! In 1996, during the peak of my running career, I had spinal surgery that was transformational – I went from hardly being able to walk to setting my best running times post-surgery. Without my treatment, I would not have continued running and I most certainly would not have opened Potomac River Running. This experience compelled me to share my story.
Spinal conditions are a nationwide crisis affecting millions of people. Chances are good that you or someone you love has needed treatment for a spinal condition. The National Spine Health Foundation is the only patient-centered organization dedicated to helping patients overcome these conditions. I hope you might consider learning more about this organization that means so much to me.
October is spine health awareness month and the Foundation’s annual gala where we celebrate spinal champions. As a Board member, I am working to gather support for the gala. I would be honored to share this special night with the first six people who donate $300 or more with a seat at my table, where I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about my personal spinal champion journey for you or someone else in your life who is experiencing spine-related pain. You can support the gala and the Foundation by purchasing a ticket here. When you purchase your ticket, be sure to indicate my name on the ‘special seating requests.’ If you can’t attend the event but still want to support, please make a donation. Your donation of any size makes a big difference. Together, we can help millions who are struggling.
