Happy National Relaxation Day! During these stressful times, it is now more important than ever to take some time for a little R&R and self-care! We caught up with some of our customers, staff, and coaches to learn about their favorite ways to relax as they run and recover.
Step into Your Favorite Pair of Kicks and go for a Walk or Run in the Fresh Air
There’s nothing more relaxing than putting on your favorite pair of shoes and getting some outdoor exercise in! =PR= customer, Tom, has been enjoying the benefits of his new quarantine routine of going on a run during lunch… aka: a runch!
“Teleworking during the pandemic has enabled me to avoid my previous long commute. I have used the time saved to regularly have a quick run at lunch, and found that it relieves stress and reduces muscle tension from sitting in front of a computer all day. Further, running puts me in a better mood and increases productivity. After a few weeks wearing old running shoes, I was given a new pair as a gift; and they have provided much better support and cushion, such that my runs are more comfortable, and it is easier to maintain a faster pace.” – Tom
Stretch Out That Muscle Tension!
Spending more time hunched over your computer these days? Relax your tense muscles by taking the time to stretch after your runs and walks. =PR= Training Programs Coach, Melissa, always feels better after a good stretch!
“I know I should stretch way more than I do. I’m really bad at making time for it after my runs, or in general. But when I do make time, I really like stretches with twists.” – Melissa
Chill Out With Your Favorite Tunes
Listening to music or podcasts is a great way to unwind whether you are running, walking, or relaxing at home. =PR= Springfield Manager, Scott, loves to just zone out to his music and run! He loves his AfterShokz headphones because they sit outside the ear and allow him to hear what is happening around him.
