This month’s customer spotlight is Gillian Bushee, a sophomore cross country and track & field athlete at Herndon High School. She is also a =PR= High School Ambassador.
Herndon High School Hornet Gillian Bushee has only been running for a short period but she is off to a successful start. Gillian started running when her mom introduced her to =PR= Races and the rest is history. Last year as a freshmen, Gillian could be found at the front of the pack and often the first to the finish line in a number of XC meets and indoor track races. When her outdoor season was canceled, that didn’t stop her from logging long miles and tackling tempo runs and hill workouts all spring and summer long. Now with the school year starting and XC season on hold until the winter months, she is focusing on more speed as she prepares for her indoor track season. Gillian starts most school days at 6AM when she logs her miles and workouts. While she is not seeing her teammates as much these days they continue to stay in touch and train together using Strava. Like most avid runners and high school athletes, the thing she misses the most are her teammates and racing! Be sure to keep an eye on this young and talented female runner. She is off to great things including working on her own activewear line!

Running: My favorite thing about running is running in the morning. There’s just something about running at 6AM with little to no people out.
Racing: Hearing the sound of the gun and knowing that you have to push yourself hard to the front and get a placement and move with the group until the end when you can hopefully breakthrough and win.
Who is your biggest cheerleader/supporter? My family, coaches, and teammates
What is your Spirit Animal? Why? A gazelle because that was my nickname in soccer because of my speed.

Thing You Miss the Most About the XC Season: The thing I miss most about cross country right now is being able to race and see my usual opponents.
